Chase Norman feels that there is only one idea needed to encapsulate DECA and that is: INFINITE MINDSET! Chase believes that this philosophy, emphasizing continuous improvement and collaboration combined with a vision for the future, is a key element to his work as DECA’s Operations Manager. Since he started in 2024, Chase has used this phrase to guide his work which includes eliminating bottlenecks and resolving any other issues to improve production quality and efficiency. In short, he works to ensure that everything is running to the best of it’s potential. Since Chase joined the DECA team, he has watched the principles associated with continuous growth and process focus continue to spread throughout the company.
Chase came to DECA with a fair amount of manufacturing experience, having worked in facilities that manufactured gas & oil field equipment, automotive wiring components and hydraulic manifolds. In addition to his industry experience, Chase has worked with different cultures, traveled abroad and taken advantage of continuing ed/ training seminars. Combine Chase’s industry experience and worldly-wise perspective with a deep sense of integrity and you get someone with a serious commitment to improving and building DECA Manufacturing. And he wants to keep learning; to build both DECA and his own skill set, Chase wants to deepen his knowledge of LEAN manufacturing.
Working for a company that develops wire harnesses, some of which are for performance motor cars, is a natural fit for someone whose motto is “Fahrvergnugen” or “driving pleasure”. One of Chase’s favorite hobbies is working on European project cars. In fact, if there is one person he could meet with it would be Ferdinand Porsche, who founded VW in 1934.
When not at DECA, or working on cars, Chase loves to watch scary movies and crime shows such as the series Dexter. He also enjoys books and recommends Open Mindset to those looking for something to read. Since he owns a farm, and way too many animals to list, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that his favorite place to vacation is his own home. Vacations on the farm also give him extra time to use his smoker. At the risk of sounding clichéd, he admitted that he is a fan of country music but feels that hard rock music is always a great option too.
Chase has been married since 2015 and has a 14-year-old son. He hopes he can be an inspiration for his son, just like his own dad is for him. Chase’s dad showed him “no matter what, work harder”.
All that hard work is paying off for both Chase and DECA because it provides room to grow and a great example for others to see.
